About Hot Chicks.
People act surprised when we tell them we (gals) write about beer.
We hope to change that.

In a past life, beer was something I tolerated as the only option at tailgates and frat parties. But with age, comes wisdom, and at age 29, I started dating a brewer. My options were to turn my nose up at the fruits of his labor, or to bench my prejudices, and drink-up.
I decided to drink.
The relationship didn’t last, but the love I discovered for craft beer and the surrounding industry did, and when you’re facing 30-something, a new love was exactly what I needed…

Beer: something I drank in mass quantities as a sorority girl (sorry, mom), out of red solo cups, and with no discerning taste.
When I graduated from UW and became an adult, the real maturation process began. Everything changed – the way I dressed, the things I ate, and the beer I drank. I discovered craft beer through my “growing up” in Seattle culture and my passion for all things local.
When you live in the Pacific Northwest, “craft” is a part of the culture. You become passionate about local things, local artistry, local everything. Craft beer is no different. We are surrounded by hundreds of micro breweries that are dedicated and passionate about their craft and we are a part of that passion. This blog, if you will, is an ode and general musings of our passion for beer.
